Fred Lee Curtis, 68, died suddenly on February 26, 2010 at his home in Exeter, NH. He was born on October 25, 1941 in Portsmouth, NH, the son of the late Byron and Mildred (Malloch) Curtis.
Fred grew up in Rye, NH and was a 1959 graduate of Hampton Academy. He served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer in Germany and was a member of the American Legion Richard A. Mitchell Post in Epping, NH. A resident of Exeter for over 43 years, he was formerly employed as a mechanic, and as a service writer for Dreher Holloway in Exeter and Greenland before retiring in 2005.
An avid fisherman, Fred enjoyed spending time with his family and helping out in the pit crew for his son who drag races at the New England Dragway.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Byron Curtis, Melvin Curtis, and his twin brother Frank Curtis. Fred is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judith N. (Eldredge) Curtis of Exeter, NH; his son and daughter-in-law Scott and Michelle Curtis of Epping, NH; his sister Kala Heron of Portsmouth, NH; and his brother and sister-in-law Kohlin �Pete� and Sharen Curtis of Mims, FL.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 5-7 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH. Spring Burial with Military Honors will be held in the Exeter Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Fresenius Medical Services, Dialysis Services, 1 Hampton Rd., Building B, Suite 109, Exeter, NH 03833.
