John “Rick” Richard Bruno, 67, died unexpectedly on February 25, 2010 at the Exeter Hospital. He was born April 20, 1942 in Denver, CO., son of the late John F. Bruno and Famojean (Miller) Bruno.
Rick grew up in Denver, CO and was a graduate of Regis Jesuit High School. He received a BS degree for pre-medicine as a double major in Chemistry and Biology at Notre Dame University, South Bend, Indiana.
While in Denver, Rick began selling real estate with his father. He moved in the early 1980’s to New Hampshire, and shortly after the real estate market declined, he began his own business selling commercial and industrial building supplies, called Shivano Co., Inc. based out of Seabrook, NH.
He met Janet Powers in 1994 and they married on July 7, 2001.
Recently, Rick was involved with Somebody Cares New England, a non-profit, Christian based community organization, committed to alleviating hunger and homelessness.
Mr. Bruno in his spare time enjoyed boating and collecting antique cars.
Mr. Bruno is survived by his wife, Janet Powers of Brentwood, NH, 5 daughters – Ann Norton, Lisa Hecker, Debbie Bruno, Bridget Bruno and Brenda Bruno who live out of state, a step-son, Steven Lowell of Georgetown, MA., 8 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Smile Train, 28th Floor, 41 Madison Ave., New York, NY 10010.
There will be a time for remembrance and sharing on Saturday, March 20th at the home of Ann and Keith Zeller, 66 Gristmill Road, Fremont, NH. Family and friends are invited to drop by between the house of 1 and 6 P.M.
