Elizabeth "Betsy" L. Peterson, 64, of Main St., died March 2, 2010 at the Exeter Healthcare after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born December 10, 1945 in Exeter, NH, one of seven children, daughter of the late Ai Sawyer Welch and Josephine (Fernald) Welch.
Betsy was a lifelong resident of Raymond and graduate of Raymond High School, Class of 1962. She was known for her bright smile and soft voice. Betsy was always the first one to lend a helping hand and warm kindness. She was a great wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt, and friend.
Betsy loved her family, flowers, photography, crafts, children, music, long drives in her convertible, the ocean, camping and baking.
She was pre deceased by two brothers, Ted Welch and Neal Welch.
She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Henry "Pete" A. Peterson of Raymond, NH, twin daughters, Amy A. McRae of North Carolina and Beth Peterson of Raymond, NH, 2 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Ardell Welch of Raymond, NH, and Robin Proulx of Nottingham, NH, 2 brothers, Jack Welch of Newburyport, MA., and Joe Welch of Nottingham, NH, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 5, 2010 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond, NH.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Raymond Congregational Church.
Burial will be in the New Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Raymond Ambulance Department, 1 Scribner Rd., Raymond, NH 03077.
