Eleanor Vanasse, 96, died on March 8, 2010 at Watson Fields Assisted Living Facility in Dover, NH following a period of declining health.
She was born in Exeter, NH on December 10, 1913 to Anthony and Katherine (Nowak) Waleryszak. Eleanor lived in Exeter for 89 years. She was known to many of her family and friends as "Al".
In 1937, Eleanor married William Vanasse and shared 50 wonderful years of marriage.
Eleanor attended Robinson Female Seminary. She was a communicant of St. Michael Church. She was a past member of the Polish Ladies Lodge. Until her retirement, she worked as a top stitcher at Wise Shoe Co.
In her younger years, Eleanor enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She was the happiest when she was with her family and especially with her grandson, Jason.
Her family includes a daughter, Jean Kalway, and her husband Eugene of Barrington, NH and Marco Island, FL., a grandson, Jason Kalway of Nottingham, NH and several nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was pre deceased by her husband, William Vanasse, and all of her brothers and sisters: Staffa Wasiewski, Helen Soboczenski, Mary Magoon, Wilamena Bruce, Victoria Gallant, William Waleryszak, Benjamin Waleryszak, and Edward Porter.
Her family wishes to extend their thanks to the dedicated staff of Watson Fields Assisted Living Facility who cared for Eleanor with love, compassion, and kindness.
There are no calling hours.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on May 7, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Michael Church, Exeter, NH.
Burial will follow in the Exeter Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the charity of one's choice.
