Kenneth F. Briggs Jr., 84, of 8 Exeter Rd., died on March 10, 2010 in Nashua, NH after a long illness. He was born in Amesbury, MA and graduated from Amesbury High School and the University of New Hampshire.
He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth F. Briggs and Marjorie Glavin Briggs and his daughter Sally (Briggs) Ryan.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Spencer Briggs of Kingston, NH; his brother Donald Briggs of Kingston, NH; his son Kenneth Briggs III of Newton, NH; his daughter Cynthia A. Briggs of Litchfield, NH; 4 grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Briggs served in active duty in the US Army during WW II and the army reserves for several years after his discharge from active duty.
As a civil engineer, he was employed by the NHDOT, Arthur Witcomb, Inc., NCS Construction, and Bronx Industries, Inc. He was also a long time member of the NH Good Roads Association, ASCE, NHSCE, and the Gideon Lodge.
He lived in Kingston for over 50 years and volunteered as Town Engineer until his retirement at the age of 80 years. He also had a leadership role as a member of the Sanborn Educational School Board, Sanborn Trustee, and the CATV committee in Kingston.
He was an avid gardener and wild life lover.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held on March 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM the First Congregational Church of Kingston, located on 6 Church St., Kingston, NH 03848.
