Robert J. Pollinger, 82, died on July 20, 2010 at Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport, MA after a lengthy illness. He was born on May 23, 1928 in Lowell, MA, the son of the late Charles and Aldea (Roy) Pollinger.
Formerly of Lowell and Tewksbury, MA, he was a resident of Fremont for over 35 years. He was employed for over 30 years as a foreman at Raytheon in Lowell and Andover, MA before retiring in 1982. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing. In the summer he resided in Vermont on Lake Champlain.
He was predeceased by his wife Anna (Gath) Pollinger who died in 1992 and a son Donald Pollinger who died in 1985. He was also predeceased by a brother, George Pollinger and two sisters, Claire Connors and Bernadette Beaudoin.
He is survived by three sons, Robert and wife Constance Pollinger of Fremont, NH, Richard and wife Debra Pollinger of Fremont, NH, and Charles Pollinger of NY; five daughters, Sandra and husband Joseph Kealy of Pepperell, MA, Patricia and husband Edward Witkum of Westford, MA, Gail and husband Robert Theriault of Lowell, MA, Alice and husband Clifford Westland of Chelmsford, MA, and Debra Pollinger and partner Michelle Bessette of Lowell, MA; 22 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and his former wife Alice (Gath) Pollinger.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2010 from 6-9 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 2 Epping St., Raymond, NH. Private Family Services will be held on Friday, July 23, 2010. Burial will be in the Village Cemetery, Fremont, NH.
