Daniel Kane Richmond, "The Gentle Giant" 66, died on November 30, 2012, surrounded by his family at his home in Raymond. He was born on December 17, 1945 in Salem, MA. Formerly of Manchester and Bedford, NH, he has been a resident of Raymond since last February.
Dan was employed for many years as a manager for Sylvania GE, and was a member of the Sylvania Motorcycle Club. He was also a talented quilt maker and was a member of the Amoskeag Quilters Guild in Manchester, from whom he received an award for his volunteer work within the community. He created and donated many beautiful quilts to many veterans groups and children's hospitals. A dedicated family man, Dan was instrumental in raising funds in support of his granddaughter Danielle whose disability required the assistance of a service dog.
He was predeceased by his mother Irene (Casali) Richmond, and is survived by his wife of 21 years, Alice (Moore) Richmond; 5 children, Steve Richmond, Dan Lindbom, Shane Richmond, Laurie Todd, and Jaime Richmond; 7 grandchildren, Danielle Lindbom, Devin Lindbom, Justin Smith, Kryslin Shields, Allison Lindbom, Zachary Doyon, and Owen Richmond; his father Edwin Richmond of Bedford, NH and many close friends.
Calling hours will be held on December 2, 2012 Between 6 and 8 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 2 Epping St., Raymond, NH. Funeral Services will be held on December 3, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the burial to follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Raymond, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Liberty House Veterans Shelter, 75 West Baker St., Manchester, NH 03103.
