Carl Arthur Reed

Born September 24, 1932, at home in Salem, NH, to Ivan C. Reed and Mary Marshall Reed, he lived the majority of his life in Raymond, NH.
Growing up he wanted to be a lineman, get married and have a family. He graduated from Raymond High in 1951 and became a lineman and then married his wife Mary Tracy in 1953. He served two years in the U.S. Army, came home and joined his father and three brothers at I. C. Reed & Sons Utility Construction Company.
Carl was pre-deceased by his parents, his sister Ruth and brothers Ivan, Joe and Orrin.
Carl served on Raymond's first planning board and one term on the school board. He was a founding member of the Raymond Baptist Church where he served in many capacities. He was part of a group that established Camp Good News, a Christian summer camp for children, in Charlestown, NH in 1962. He continued as a camp committee member for approximately 40 years and a state board member for Child Evangelism Fellowship of NH, a Bible ministry for children.
Carl leaves his beloved wife with whom he would have celebrated 60 years of marriage January 11. He also leaves his son Carl Bradley and wife, Carlene, of Raymond; daughters , Beth Reed -Domingo and husband, Ron , of Greenville, DE; Tracy Coverdale and husband , Tom, of Sunapee ; and Mary "Missy" Freeman and husband, Rodney, of York, ME; Jennifer Brown of Center Barnstead. He also leaves thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, his sisters Dorothy Mullin, Olive Turner and Audrey Boucher.
Carl was an honest, hard-working, no non-sense man who loved The Lord, his family, friends and his work. His heaven on earth was "Pa-Pa's Cottage" in South Addison, ME. He was known to say that his "other wife "was his
line-truck.
Carl was looking forward to meeting his Lord in Heaven!

In lieu of flowers , the family requests donations be sent to Camp Good News, 165 Camp Good News Road, Charlestown, NH, 03603.
