Ronald Jon Battis "Ron", 62, died February 20, 2017 at the Oceanside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hampton, NH. He was born October 24, 1954 in Exeter, NH, son of the late Albert and Mildred (Day) Battis.
Ron was the youngest of seven children. He grew up and was a lifelong resident of Danville. Ron was a carpenter and worked over 20 years with Lewis Builders. He built many homes in the local area, specializing in garage door installations. Ron had a tremendous sense of humor and was known to be an amazing story teller. He will also be remembered as a loving family man. Ron worked many years training harness horses and earned respect from fellow horsemen for his ability to work with difficult horses and making them winners.
His other hobbies included playing golf and sky diving.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Erika (Endes) Battis, his brother, Richard Battis and his sister, Joan Burleigh.
Ron is survived by his 2 sisters, Norma Brousseau of S. Hampton, NH and Sandra Lawson of AZ., 2 brothers, Edward Battis of Danville, NH and Paul Battis of Dover, NH, many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Danville Baptist Church, 226 Main St., Danville, NH.
Spring burial will be in the Old Meetinghouse Cemetery, Danville, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to any veterans organization of your choice.
