Stephen R. Scully, 74, of Moline, IL passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Unity Point Health – Trinity, Rock Island.

Stephen was born December 16, 1942, in Exeter, NH, the son of Daniel Joseph & Mary Valerie (Burnham) Scully. He was previously married to Jane Scully.

Steve was a graduate of St Michael School, of Exeter High School, where he excelled in Track and Field, and of Keene State College with a BA in History. He did additional graduate work in Environmental Engineering. He became the Director of Operations for the City of East Moline Water Dept. and of various other municipalities. He was also a professor at Black Hawk College. He served his country in the Navy and was a member of the Eagles Club, Elks Club and the South Daytona American Legion.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Rebecca Fisher and Valerie & David Johnson; brother, David Scully; grandchildren, Laura Smith (Michael), Kristin Hillery (Ryan), Jessica Kubas (Shawn), Johnathon Bever, Zachery Bever, Noah Maynard, Christian Maynard, Lauren Johnson, David J. Johnson, 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Pauline Realy Conklin, Daniel Peter Scully, William Scully, Anne Rowe, Mary Scully and Ronald Scully, all natives of Exeter.

***An addition to services has been made as follows-A rosary by the family will be said on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 starting at 10:30 at St. Michael Church***

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael Church, 9 Lincoln St., Exeter, NH.

Burial will follow in the Exeter Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Moline American Legion, Post 246, 829 16th Ave., East Moline, IL 61244, or to a charity of your choice.
