June Armstrong, 86, died May 8, 2017 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital, Portsmouth, NH.
She was born March 23, 1931 in Newfields, NH, daughter of the late Ross and Eleanor (Blaisdell) Glass.
June grew up in Newfields, NH and she was a graduate of Robinson Female Seminary in Exeter, Class of 1949. June married Melvin G. Armstrong Jr. and they were longtime residents in Kensington, NH. June was the assistant town clerk and assistant librarian in Kensington for many years. She was an active member of the Kensington Congregational Church and she was on the flower committee at the church. Her hobbies included quilting and flower gardening.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her two sisters Phyllis Kenison and Lolly McNeil.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Melvin and Sue Armstrong of Kensington, NH, son and daughter-in-law, Seth and Denise Armstrong of Littleton, NH, daughter, Laurie Armstrong of Shirley Mills, ME, daughter and son-in-law, Kathrine and Frank Nadeau of Spartanburg, SC, 9 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, a brother, Vernon Glass, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Kensington Congregational Church.
Burial will be in Village Cemetery, Kensington, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kensington Congregational Church, 108 Amesbury Rd., Kensington, NH 03833.
