Julius Edward Archie, 82, died February 8, 2008 at the Colonial Poplin Nursing Home in Fremont, NH. He was born March 10, 1925 in Portsmouth, NH, son of the late Peter and Annie (Surowiec) Archie. Julius attended elementary level schools in Greenland, NH and high school in Portsmouth, NH. He left high school early to help run the family farm. From 1947-2002 he was married to Priscilla (Lancaster) Archie until her death. Julius worked for 20+ years for Western Electric in North Andover, MA. After retiring, he was such an avid gardener that he ran his own vegetable stand for 22 years. He was a former resident of S. Hampton for 16 years, Kingston, NH for 6 years, and Exeter, NH for 12 years. In 1977, they purchased a home on Merry Meeting Lake in New Durham and made it their permanent home in 1982. ** In his life-He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Linda Archie of Raymond, NH, his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and James McLean of Lancaster, NH, 2 grandchildren, Ryan Archie of East Hartford, Ct., and Travis Archie of Raymond, NH, several nieces and nephews. End of in his life** Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 11, 2008 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, Epping, NH. Burial will be in the Exeter Cemetery in the spring.
