Jim and I were classmates, friends and "West End boys" from first grade until we graduated High School.

At the awards ceremony for our Class B State Champion 1955 EHS football team, Coach Stone called Jim and Ron "Reddy" Chisholm his "watch-charm guards". Two young men whose determination, courage and will to win enabled them to do a fine job in a position for which their physical size was ill suited.

Jim epitomized the saying that it isn't the size of the dog in the right, it's the size of the fight in the dog.

A man who believed in himself and proved that belief well founded over the 60 years after High School football was behind us.

He mastered the Sousaphone in the EHS band. Years later as we'd reminisce he'd always remind me that his sister Toni was a very accomplished drummer in that band.

Proud big brother, and later a proud family man, great teammate, unfailing friend, great conversationalist.
I shall miss him until we meet again.

Dear Mary, Catherine, Elaine, Ian, Shannon, Rita and Jerry. My deepest regrets for your loss of such a dear man and devoted husband and father. I'm sorry I won't be able to attend the services. I am in the middle of a bad case of influenza. My wife Maureen will be there in my place. I trust she will send my love and best wishes.
My greatest hope and desire, at this time of reflection is that you all will put all your hope and faith on the Lord Jesus Christ and lean not on your own understanding. But with the faith as of a little child, putting your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (who was made sin for us) and we, forsaking all our sins. Not by our strength but by the power of the Holy Spirit which is freely given to those who love Him.
God bless you all.

Judy and I are saddened to hear about your loss. My cousin Jim and I shared some great memories back in 1961-62 when he was stationed aboard the USS Bridget and I was stationed at Fleet Training group in San Diego. We had a lot of fun times when were together in San Diego. We also went to his to his retirement at the Naval Shipyard, Charlestown, Ma, where he was piped ashore and thus retired. It was quite an impressive ceremony. Thinking of you all during this difficult time.

We were so sad to learn of your brother's death and we send you lots of hugs and love. How sad that this happened so suddenly and that you didn't have a chance to say good bye!
