Guestbook for William A. Lameyer Showing 1 - 23 of 23 entries.

Summers in Castine means the Lameyer boys are back in town. Last summer Will took one of those learning moments that Daniel talked about and explained the bonds market to me! On the porch with a glass of wine. Thanks Will, we will miss you!

We were profoundly saddened to hear of his passing.
We are sorry that we can do nothing in Japan.
We have not met him for a long time, but we remember his gentle smile.
When he was in Japan, he invited our family to X'mas party several times.
He cooked the prawn shrimp dish and the whole chicken,etc....
He held our children high and high. Always he was gentle and kind for us.
He lives in our heart forever .

Don't worry about your family, Will ! We always love Michiyo, Jenny, Daniel you loved, too.

I met Will in college and he remains one of my favorite people. He was kind and witty and he exuded calm. During our junior year we were on the same study abroad program. To this day, when I see clementines sold in certain packaging I think of Will, who used to buy them at open air markets in Kyoto and eat them by the kilo.
One of my strongest memories of Will harkens back to a beautiful, almost-summer day at Amherst. We had similar course schedules, so I knew he had a lot to do. As I was bustling around, taking deep breaths to remain calm, I happened upon Will. He was sitting in an armchair incongruously place in the middle of a lawn, playing guitar and smiling, creating an oasis of calm, of joy, of music, of sunshine.
Will was a great friend. He knew how to work hard and how to play hard. He found the Middle Way. Okagesamade, dear friend; I walk in your shadow.

Will, Joe Shrager and I were freshman roommates on the fourth floor of Pratt. Needless to say that was a very formative time and the range of personalities and backgrounds represented on the fourth floor was eye opening and Will certainly brought his own distinctive qualities -love of adventure, questioning convention, to the fore. While we went our separate ways since then seeing Will at reunion brought fresh appreciation of the time we had together 36 yrs ago!!! I'm sure for many in the class of '84, especially come reunions, Will's spirit will always be with us!

Upon moving to Harbour Hill Condominiums several years ago, Will immediately displayed his wonderful qualities - a thirst for knowledge, a keen intellect, a willingness to get involved, and a passion for helping his fellow man. He quickly volunteered for special projects that were critical to the HHCA. In addition to researching and finalizing these important projects, Will also served as Board secretary. Will became a vital resource and confidant to the Board exhibiting a wealth of insight but, most of all, a humility in his approach to difficult issues. Will shall always be remembered by the HHCA community. We extend our sincere condolences to Michiyo, Jenny, Daniel, and their extended family.

We are so sorry to hear about Will's passing. We will remember our cousin Will as a kind, thoughtful, generous person who was easy to talk to and fun to be around. We wish we were able to spend more time with him and his family in his short time here, but we have fond memories of the trips we've taken to Maine and when we met for lunch in New Hampshire. We are sorry that we can't be there for his services. Our hearts, thoughts, and love are with you during this difficult time.

We had the good fortune of becoming neighbors and friends with Will and Michiyo a few years ago when they moved to Portsmouth.
As the saying goes..."Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get". We soon discovered a truly remarkable man, caring husband, great neighbor, and wonderful friend. We have fond memories of Will and Michiyo enjoying walks with Lily in downtown Portsmouth; enjoying roof-top summer parties; learning about wine, coffee, music; and sharing stories of parental pride about Jenny and Daniel.
We are saddened that Will was taken too soon and extend our deepest sympathies to Michiyo, Jenny, Daniel, and extended family.

I was fortunate to have spent time with Will in Japan after taking off a year from Amherst to continue my pursuit of a black belt in karate. The previous year I was with the AKP program at Doshisha. One of my fondest memories was traveling home from Japan with Will and classmates. We stopped in Seoul and stayed at a hostel in Hawaii. I recall taking about 5 or 6 connecting flights to save money! Will probably could have afforded first class but was always a humble and calming soul with a sharp whit. Will started referring to me as sensei after he participated in a Karate class that I taught at Amherst. My hearts bleeds for his beautiful family who was always the topic of conversation with Will. We miss you Will. You left us too soon. Rest In Peace. Craig 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

We lost a very fine man quite suddenly and far too soon the other day in Will Lameyer, and my heart goes out to his family and to all of his many friends. I was fortunate to be one of Will's roommates sophomore year at Amherst and to attend Doshisha University with him on the AKP program in Kyoto during junior year. He was always a very kind, gentle man who had a wonderful sense of humour. We discovered Japan together and had a fantastic time doing that. I know that he also loved his family so very much and was so proud of all of you. I am very saddened by this news. Will was truly a great man who loved life, appreciated all the little things and made us all smile. He was one of the gems and his sparkle will always be remembered. Thank you Will for all of the laughs and the good times and your friendship. We all miss you very much.

Michiyo, Daniel, Jenny, Betty and Roger, Ted, John and family. It is with immense sorrow that I address all of you on the sudden passing of dearest Will. I met him as a young man when still living at home in Exeter, later while he worked in Japan and further in USA. Though not meeting often,I remained close to his mom and aunts. Sorry for not being able to join you during the memorial but my heart and prayers are with you. Hugs and we hope to see you in the near future. Lots of love.

I've been saddened since learning of the loss of cousin Will. As a child during family visits, I remember the Lameyer cousins as being older, playfully rambunctious, and always having fun joking together and goofing around. I am grateful I was able to get to know Will as an adult over the past few years when I would visit near Exeter. Will was always welcoming, kind and generous with his time. My sincere condolences to all his family.

There are not enough words to adequately express the feelings about the passing of Will. He made friendships very special. I felt fortunate and enriched from the fleeting evenings shared with Will. To me.....he defined the class, respect, smarts and modesty I always associated with him and, thru Will, with his wife, son and daughter. We all grieve with his very special family.

My first memory of cousin Will was visiting the family in New Hampsphire when I was 6 or 7 and having Will, Ted and John lift me up so I could "zipline" in their back yard. It was a very memorable occasion. The last time I saw him was at cousin Heather's wedding about 4 years ago, but via Facebook I was able to feel like we had more interaction. I regret not having visited during the summer time when Aunt Betty and all the family would get together, I have enjoyed seeing Will and the family throughout the years in then annual holiday card and will miss his wonderful smile. Although I may not have had much contact with you all, Will had that aura surrounding him that provided comfort, a sense of peace and a charming smile. The heavens now have another angel that will watch over you.My condolences to all of the family, You will continue to be in my thoughts an prayers.

Growing up Will was a good friend of my son Bruce. They were classmates in Middle School and PEA. He and I became re-acquainted upon his return to Exeter and we began to play squash. Although a much more talented player than me, he played me straight up and with respect. I will miss his smile and laughter when I occasionally was able to get a shot past him. He was a fine human being and I will miss him. Gone too early.

Will was our dear friend. He loved the camraderie and activity in our vineyard and winery. He was an expert in wine and, as the Program Chair of the Northern New England Chapter of the American Wine Society, gave incredibly informative and entertaining presentations. He was brilliant, modest, caring, thoughtful, delightful, warm, and a stellar human being. He was devoted to and loved Michiyo, Jenny, Daniel and his family dearly. We extend our deepest sympathy for your loss.
